Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say. But Moses said. "O Lord, please send someone else to do it." (Exodus 4:12-13)
We all know that the fall of mankind into sin started from Adam. But by reading the Genesis and Exodus, I've perceived that the Israelites were growing farther apart from God. God shown Moses many miracles to prove to him that He is God, burning bush, turn staff to snake etc. But at the end he asked God to send someone else.
Two observations: 1) How did Israelites end up in Egypt? Because of what the brothers of Joseph did to him (SINS). They end up to be happy slaves (psychastic) in Egypt. 2) What happened to Moses when he did not obey to God? Aaron, brother of Moses end up to be his helper but also leaded the Israelites into worshipping idols, which caused more trouble.
Before Moses, I did not recall any Israel forefathers asked proof from God. But Moses asked God "what if" a few times, this indicated to me that the faith to God had been diminished. After God resolved all his (Moses) doubts, then you would think Moses should be willingly to marching on. Rather, he (a kind of) blamed God that he could not do it because of his disability (v.10). Although Moses finally accepted the task but because of his disobedience to God, his brother (helper) Aaron, instead of helping him to manage the task became his liability.
Lesson to be learnt, obedience is very important in following God. If we focus on our desires, circumstances and own weaknesses first then we will fall into the same trap, which might do us more harm then we could imagine. "Faith in God" is the utmost important regard, to carry out His will.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I humble myself in front of you, God. You are almighty but because of your faithfulness, You come to save us from eternal death to eternal life. I thank you for Your mercy. Your Will is on everyone of us but because of our less of faith and own desires, we put off Your Will again and again. Please help me to have faith in You, God and carry out Your Will. Pray in Jesus name. Amen.
