Luke 1:6, 20 - Christians Entirety Conducts

Luke 1:6, 20 (NIV) - "6 Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly. 20 And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their appointed time."

To be the people of GOD we must follow and keep His commands - laws, statutes and decrees carefully. Then, GOD will call on us to do something that does not make sense in the human’s mind. Just like Zachariah, father of John the Baptist, replied to angel Gabriel that his wife and himself already too old to have a baby. From human’s perspective that is right but if we truly belief that the LORD our GOD is greatest then He can do anything that He has planned for. However, we must be careful to ensure that the calling is not from Satan but from GOD. To verify that, the work must not contradict to GOD’s law, instead it must be hold on in GOD’s law. As 1:13-17 indicate that it is the love of GOD to prepare a person first then to save all people – “to make ready a people prepared for the LORD”. Therefore as the people of GOD we cannot just keep His laws only; when He calls us to serve Him, we must belief Him and response to His calling with faith. The end verse 38a of this chapter – “And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” Mary’s response to the word of GOD is different to Zachariah, the priest. 

Do not be undertaken by human’s viewpoint on the calling of GOD. As Jesus Christ our LORD says “with GOD all things are possible (Matthew 19:26b) – “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” We must have true faith to believe GOD when serving Him.

PRAYER: LORD my GOD. Praising You GOD for Your mercy on me. Please give me the wisdom and energy so to serve You as the shepherd of the sheep. Not just reading the Bible but also response to Your calling. Also, my spirit must be totally controlled by the Holy Spirit. Praise in Jesus Christ Name. AMEN!

Deuteronomy 29:29 - Following GOD's Laws With Faith

29:29 The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.

This verse to me is in regard to trusting the LORD our GOD because GOD does not show to man physically. Only prophets from the time of Adam to the time of Jesus Christ were the men whom prophesying GOD because GOD talked to them.

The LORD our GOD is justice, righteous, and mercy. To be His people we must be obedience to His commandments. GOD gave Moses about His commandments and why GOD gave Moses His commandments, because Moses was the prophet of that time. Prophets are the only human that GOD gives them His secret things. GOD’s things are secret to human because GOD is not a human.

Because GOD’s things are secret therefore we must not use our own mindset to judging GOD’s will as verse 29:19 states – “one who, when he hears the words of this sworn covenant, blesses himself in his heart, saying, ‘I shall be safe, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart.’ This will lead to the sweeping away of moist and dry alike.” Therefore, to follow His laws must be full of faith in Him, if not then we might want to obey Him only when physically sense Him. We must observe the Words of GOD, keeping and working by following it. 30:12f– “Who will ascend to heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?” is the human thought that how could it happen then 30:14 – “But the word is very near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you can do it”, this states to us we can do it because it is near our heart and mouth. This is the amazing work of GOD therefore faith in GOD is vital.

Faith is to believe the Bible, which is the Words of GOD and not just a book written by men; without faith then we might consider the bible is just the word of ancestors.

PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father. Thank you for giving me the wisdom to learn how I can obey to your commandments, statutes and rules. May your Holy Spirit lead me to trust You GOD with whole faith and not partially. So, I can be Your sincere servant. Pray in Jesus Christ victorious name. AMEN!
